I have a 2003 KIA Rio when pluged in properly with ignition turned to on position i get no communications with ecu error whenever i try to do anything anyone have any ideas cant read codes or erase them

I haven't tried hooking up to a Kia RIO but have you tried updating the tool using the free software on CRecorder.com? I've noticed it helps add additional car models.

To be sure you got that toolyou got via legal route.As some of them were not genuines.
