Subject: What does CRecorder actually record? Thu Apr 24, 2008 9:57 am
Found this niffty little device and it seems to have potential for alot of good. The only real questions i have is how much data does it store. Does it store all the pids and then display them. Does it show the pids in gragh form only or can you look at each individual frames of the data stream? Do you have to pick certian pids to record or are they preset and cannot look at any other pids. I have downloaded the veiwer 2.3 and it does not really expalin how much it can show. There is just not enough info to fully describe what it does on the website. Thanks in advance for helping me with these questions.

Hi Skeeter,
I'll give you the edited version of the CRECORDER:
Data Recording = OB2 Data stream i.e. mandated info from SAE and EPA
Codes = Hard and "Soft" codes or one trip codes
Freeze Frame = Mode 2 of the OBD2 Standard
Drive Cycle Identification and Seed Checks = each key cycle creates a separate file in the recorder and puts a time and date stamp on it for easire viewing and narrowing of your search for that intermittent problem
It also monitors vehcvile speed and alarms can be set to "set a flag" if the max spped is exceeded - this is great for fleet managers but as a parent of teenagers (I have 4) that drive it is the cats meow!! Some of the filed testing on this unit was done on my truck that my duaghter drives to and from college - needless to say we had to have a heart to heart about why shew was doing 87 in a 70 at 11:30 PM when she was supposed to be in her dorm!!!! Hope this helps - if not let me know and I can more in depth.
