Subject: FIXED: CRecorder not found! Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:43 pm
Bought a Crecorder from my MAC Tools Dealer.... have installed software (3 versions) on 4 Pc's (2 XP, 1 Vista, 1 Win7), none of them recognize that CRecorder is plugged into the USB port.
MAC guy is of no help.
How do I find the driver/device conflicts that keep CRecorder from being seen?
Thanks for any help!

Did you plug the unit in before loading drivers? If so then go to the device manager and delete it then reload drivers. After drivers are loaded plug the unit in and allow windows to set it up. DO NOT PLUG UNIT IN BEFORE LOADING DRIVERS.

Thanks for your reply!
It was not plugged in till after the software/drivers were installed.
Launch lists USB conflicts as a possible cause (have to uninstall other USB devices to get it to work), but I don't know how or which ones to even start with.
Two of my work laptops (XP) are used with VCDS (VAG-COM), but that's not connected at this point.

So I went to my brother in-law and tried it on his netbook (xp). Same thing, after installing software from launch site, pc does not recognize crecorder when it is attached to the USB port.
This netbook is never attached to a printer, but has been used to retrieve photos from a digital camera.

Phoned Tech Support just now... they said to make sure to push hard enough on the cable (when plugging it into the CRecorder) until I hear a click. The light turning-on in the device is not a full indication of correct connection.
I will try it again after work... stupid me forgot the tool at home.
