I suspect that the module was replaced and not coded. Try this link.

if the module was replaced ..he should be able to reconnect the harness to old module and get the coding ..at least to know what the original coding is (in order to match up wth new module after entering manually )

You will need a coding table and sort the optiions for you particular car, If you have Mitchell you can find the coding table in it, if you can't find the coding table on Mitchell, AllData or Rosstech, then. let me know and I wll research it and get back to you.

That's usually what I remember when coding a VW/Audi module, the 00000 means the module still needs to be recoded and to get that information you can use the x431 to extract it out of the old module.

I believe you would just go into the SRS module, then go to code module then follow the on screen prompt.

you will need the PR code from the white label this will give the wheel size ration, for 15-16-17 inch wheels also the gear box is it manual multi-trip or auto etc.....

you will need to login first then to code module

your code can be

EXAMPLE

ECU Name Mod. Car Year Engine Part # Component Coding
03 8E Audi A4 2004 AVF 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04255
03 8E Audi A4 2004 AVF 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04255
03 8E Audi A4 2004 BFB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04475
03 8E Audi A4 2004 BFB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04475
03 8E Audi A4 2004 BFB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04475
03 8E Audi A4 2004 BFB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04475
03 8E Audi A4 2004 ALT 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04275
03 8E Audi A4 2004 AVB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04155
03 8E Audi A4 2004 BFB 8E0 614 517 ABS/ESP front 3429 04499

but you still need a login code which for the A4 8e is a 09???

hope fully this may help with some questions

Okay..

Step 1

you need to go to 11 LOGIN 5 pin

Step 2

to build the code using knowledge and / or PR code from white label, you will find the full cars details here on this tag

0?xxx: Chassis
9 = Audi A4
0x?xx: Brakes
2 = Brembo 17" (PR-1LJ)
3 = FN3 16" (PR-1LT/1LF)
4 = HP2 16" (PR-1LX)
4 = FNR 16" (PR-1LA/1LG)
5 = FN3 15" (PR-1LB/1LE)
6 = C54 (PR-1LZ)
0xx?x: Engine
5 = 4/6 Cyl. Diesel
7 = 4/5 Cyl. Gasoline
9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline
0xxx?: Transmission
5 = Manual
7 = Automatic (5HP19, 5HP24, AG4, AG5)
9 = Multitronic (01J, CVT)

so for example this is the car in question Audi A4 8E

the login code will be 09 (audi a4) first, then we need the PR code for the braking system this will be found on the white lable in the service doc's or boot area this is now a ? if it is 15" wheels the number will be 5 so now we have
095 , now the engine CYL in this case a 8 so now the LOGIN code is 0959 and last is the transmission in this case a MANUAL which = the number 5

this all depends on the car in question so now the final login code is 09595,

Step 3
then you will need to build the code or using the access to the old module and use the old software code

the go to 07 recode / code module and build the code again

0?xxx: Chassis
4 = Audi A4
0x?xx: Brakes
1 = C54 (PR-1LZ)
2 = FN3 15" (PR-1LB/1LE)
3 = HP2 16" (PR-1LX)
3 = FNR 16" (PR-1LG)
4 = FN3 16" (PR-1LT/1LF)
5 = Brembo 17" (PR-1LJ)
0xx?x: Engine
5 = 4/6 Cyl. Diesel
7 = 4/5 Cyl. Gasoline
9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline
0xxx?: Transmission
5 = Manual
7 = Automatic (5HP19, 5HP24, AG4, AG5)
9 = Multitronic (01J, CVT)

so in this example 04295 is the final CODING number the press ok

after this come back out of the software and re-enter you will see the ECU CODING number has change from 00000 to 04295

this is in a nut-shell as you would say.......

Step 4

after this is done you may also need to do basic settings on the G85 for steering angel or a basic setting 93 for a full function active test..

road test then read clear DTC memory

hope this may help in a fashion then

Step 5

have a nice cup of tea
