resetting, reprograming?

I bought the diagun with the understanding that I would be able to reset PCM's, ECU's and what not. Is this true because i have yet to figure out how to do that. Is it only on certain vehicles i can do this or is there a program i need to download or was I just lied to?

In many cases you can reset adaptations on PCM's and other modules.  In some cases you can code new modules/recode existing modules to the ecu.  You cannot do any 'flash' programming/reprogramming that requires manufacturer software to be downloaded to the vehicle.

The best thing would be to view the vehicle coverage chart on the launch tech website.  go to www.launchtechusa.com and select the support button and then select vehicle coverage.  There are 7 pages of coverage and the vehicles we see in the U.S. begin on page 2.

Who did you purchase the scan tool from?

If you login to the x431 site and select datums the entire key match worksheet can be downloaded as a pdf file.

You need to login to x431.com the select datums. A link won't work because a login is required.

Correct, it is listed under datums as:

(3). Guide for VW special function operation

Hope this helps,
