Problem with new Super 16
Permalink

Hello all,
I just purchased the "Super 16" connector and have tried it on several vehicles. The first was a 2003 Mercedes S55 AMG...after an extended fault read time, it gave me over 6 pages of faults,,,practically every hard part under the hood. Tried again with the OBDII-16c and it gave me the correct fault of the flywheel sensor.
I just tried it again on a 96 Volkswagen Jetta and it would not communicate with the car...at all. Once again, plugged in the 16c and it reported the correct faults.
I tried one more time with a 2002 Volvo s80...again, no communication.
I am running the latest software versions on the smartbox and the latest display program.
I even tried to run the Super 16 v10.05 update software and all I get is the instruction screen, then a "Fail_1" error.
Did I buy a faulty one or am I just missing something???

Thanks ahead, Rick

Have you updated the Super-16 to version 10.05?

Sorry, I missed the last line of your post about trying to update the connector. Sounds like a defective connector. Call the tech support line on Monday. 877 LAUNCH9. SELECT OPTION 4. Remember there is time difference so try at about 11:30.

Update...

Apparently, due to the very (one of the first) early version of my X431, it had some hardware/firmware issues with the Super 16 and other versions of the current softwares. An upgrade to the Infinity and all is working well again.
