What connector are you using on the Fords? Also, what are you trying to access? I have been able to get into those Fords, but there isn't a whole lot beyond the basics at the moment.
OBD 1 is a tricky issue, since the scanner really is a OBD-II machine. What cars/years were you trying to access?
Sorry to hear about your troubles with your rep, usually lAunch is pretty good about giving me suggestions or submitting the info to R&D.
Perhaps we can try to solve it here on the forums.
i under stand your issue - however i was feed up and finely got mac to replace my launch scanner with a otc geniys model wich works better and does grate with o.b.d. 1 however at this time i am doing battle with mac rep becuse that scanner is about $1000. cheper and he refuses to do any thing about the price diffrence
Launch's strongest coverage (in my opinion) is OBD-II and Import vehicles. I don't even try scanningn domestic vehicles and OBD-I vehicles are rare around here any more.
If I worked on alot of Fords as one of my primary makes to service, I wouldn't have considered the Launch. The rep should have asked you want you work on and helped you make a better scanner decision from the beginning. There is no "one scanner fits all" I have a bunch of scanners for the variety of cars I service, because each has its strengths and weaknesses. A professional productive shop can't survive on one scanner alone.
I DO AGREE AND IN MY CASE I AMTHE ONLY TECH IN A 2-BAY SHOP WITH A CHEP --HA,HA,HA, OWNERS - SO I FOOT ALL BILLS WHEN IT COMES TO MOST EQUIPMENT -- BUT THE ONE THING THAT TICKED ME MOST WAS THE SORRY STATE OF THE REP AND THERE ABILTY TO NOT HELP
