I've been trying to get my new LAUNCH X-431 Pad to update the diagnostic files with no luck. It currently has nothing but the stock two (DEMO and another, I forget the name). When I go to the One-click update center and choose to update the files, each file fails giving an 'Upgrading Failed' message and no explanation as to why this is. I attempted to download the files from www.dbscar.com but I cannot select a language on most of the files and the others only have Chinese available. If I try to download the files which have the chinese language available it gives me an error stating 'IP is Limited!'

I am now residing in Australia and the updating fails although I completed the registration correctly while in China. All the defaults diagnostic sw applications have been erased while attempting an update. I can no longer use my X431 to troubleshoot cars.
My supplier in China is not responding to my emails. What should I do?
I did activate the registration while in China but the ionfo appears to have vanished. How can I reactive the registration from my PAD.

You bought a grey import unit from China that is only good for updating in China, there is no kind way of saying this but your stuffed! If you had bought a genuine unit via your Australian dealer you would not be experiencing any of these problems, Launch units are I.P locked in conjunction with dealer codes and serial numbers. Good luck in contacting China for any help!
Should have bit the bullet and bought a genuine item from Australia.

Alex, I had the same problem as you, that is, when I moved from China to Australia, all the diag software initially installed when the unit was purchased got wiped out excepted the 2 default software (demo & OBD) as soon as I did activate the one-click updates.
While in Australia I contacted Launch support in China by email. I got the problem fixed within 48 hours and I have all the one-click updates working perfectly since. Something need to be setup at the central server for unblocking the download to your device. I you have an authorized X431 Launch unit, even if you bought it in China, you should be back in business soon. You must have purchased your unit directly from an official Launch distributor either in China or overseas, and provide the dealer code + serial number + private key. However, if you purchased a Chinese version of X431 Pad, there is no way to get the english version of the software to download on it as the international version of X431 PAD is double the price of the Chinese version. Furthermore, the Embedded Windows 7 in Chinese cannot be upgraded to Embedded Windows 7 in English, even if you are willing to pay for an upgrade cost. I have two X431 PAD devices, one International, one Chinese, both purchased in China from an authorized Launch distributor when I was working in China.
Don't let these guys scare you. as long as you have a user name & password to the upgrade site with your registered tool. login into it with a incognito web site . I us xgateway.info that way the server doesn't know where your located incase it is blocking you. Download your updates to a usb stick & insert it into your tool & it will update it.
