Dear members;

I am thinking of buying a new scanner instead of my "old" X431 Master.

Which would you prefer?

The X431 PAD vs. X431 PRO

What X431 Pad are you refer to? Launch 5C tablet or X431 V+ (PRO3), both are PAD.
X431 5C PRO and X431 PRO performs almost the same functions. My vote on X431 5C, it is much cheaper than X431 Pro. X431 V+ (PRO3) is way to expensive (more than 1k USD)

By "new x431 pad" I assume you mean the android based padii?  I personally have this machine and LOVE it,  I had a snapon solus and ford ids.  This machine makes both obsolete and then some.  you can program some modules, keys, scan pretty much everything.  Amazing machine.  A little tip would be never delete the old interfaces when you do a manufacturer update, sometimes the different interfaces are better at different tasks.

i would also like to add that i have used customer service a number of times and have be pleased with the outcome every time.  Launch PRO equipment assumes a certain level of knowledge- say a PRO.... They do make more DIY geared machines that are excellent as well, I have the crp123 and its really good.  Especially considering the price point of $250 to scan engine, trans, airbag, and abs of ANY manufacturer.  Try to get that any where else- including FREE lifetime updates.

The claim is any manufacturer but it dont work in practice.

Many vehicles in the software are impossible to connect to and have unreadable Chinese to English translations.

I have connected to many different makes and models. Not only with my pad 2 but also my crp123. Perhaps the one you experienced was a Launch knock-off. I have scanned MB, Hyundai, Kia, chevy, dodge, ford, volvo, bmw, toyota right off the top of my head. These have all worked exactly as claimed.
