We would like to hear some positive stories about how Launch is or has tried to correct problems with there customer service, Matco Maximus II, software updates, Is there still some major communication connection problems with certain Vehicles ? Have any of the older conditions and problems been corrected? Is there a owners or operators manual available for the Maximus II. On the Web, YouTube or Written?
i have been having problems with it from the beginning on diesels lacks ability to test many things.dodge dakota wont communicate with any moduals except pcm and lacks 80%of the pids there.not much luck with this tool.
I am thinking about buying the Maximus 2.0.. I have one for demo purposes. I have alot of Ford 7.3 and 6.0 engines. Will do the contribution test on these engines. I am looking but I don't know how or where it would be located. Any Help. Also I have some 2010 Sprinters. What all can I do on these trucks with the maximus?... Any insite is most appreciated. I have one that has SRS codes can they be checked and cleared. If not it is a waste of time.
I'm not sure as to why these people don't have a class action lawsuit for this piece of absolute garbage!!! This shouldn't sell for $35 let alone $3500. Absolute crap!
It has taken some getting used to for sure. Most of that imo is attributed to the Android platform. I have been a diagnostic tech for over 10 yrs and am just not used to the all in one experience. For example, I'm used to a regular scan tool I just connect to my PC and transfer files, or stream off of. With this, I find myself confused as to where files are located, were they save, how to assign file directory, etc. That is more attributed to my general unfamiliarity with the Android platform than anything else. What can I say, I'm an Apple guy.
As far as the scantool goes, I have been using Launch since the first Diagun, and am familiar with the core platform. Launch has come a very long way since then. Are they perfect? No absolutely not, no tool is, but they strive to improve the platform, and are constantly gathering field data and feedback for that purpose. Customer service is better too than it was years back, and dare I say better than that other brand across the pond. Have any of you dealt with the CS department of the other big name scan tools? It's atrocious and those tools cost a bit more than the 3k this does.
I'm also curious as to those who claim the tool lacks functionability within manufacturers? Care to elaborate? I have used it mostly on Mercedes, BMW, and VAG products, and the coverage is OE level. Sure it lacks the editor function, and module configuration capabilities of the OE scan tools, but for most diagnostic troubleshooting, and DTC look up it works fine. I've had the occasional hiccups with communication, and error messages, but have overall been pleased with it's capabilities.
