Launch Creader Vlll. New 19/02/15 Problems encountered.

Hi all, from Australia, Just started using my Creader Vlll and not having much luck, New out of the box, will not fully read a 2008 Mitsubishi colt, as I need to access air bag/SRS system for codes, same with a 2012 Ssangyong, limited access. I had better luck when I plugged it into a 2014 VW gained full access. I have registered, seen the current available updates for this creader and its up to date. I bought this scanner/reader as I was under the impression that this tool would read & scan with full access to other levels like airbag/SRS/ without getting, NO, limited or partial access. Have others encountered the same problems? Regards Moz from Aus.

You may want to try with KOEO to scan it or KOER.  Sometimes mine does not communicate when vehicle is running.  But it'll work fine with just key on.

Try both auto scan and manual scan also.

I know my CRP129 does a lot, but I don't expect to do everything.  You get what you pay for most of the time.  but for the $ CRP129 is awesome!!

So, my point is that sometimes, you gotta pay to play.

Still, Creader VIII and CRP129 are super good for the money!

Hello Fellow Launchers!,

The Creader Vlll is an overseas unit so I wouldn't know to much of it but as for the CRP129, Its is an all around tool it can read your generic OBDll along with Vehicle Specific. You have some options most others do not like performing oil light resets, Electronic Parking Brakes, Steering Angle Sensor(SAS). I recommend we Clear the SD card and we download the new car lines onto the SD card.

Sincerely,

Anthony From Launch Tech USA.

Yeah, Anthony is right!!

I had problem with my CRP129 for a little bit.  Couldn't use Oil reset on 2007 Mitsubishi Endevor.  I knew that it should work since I've used it before.

I ended up starting over like Anthony said.

It works just like it should now:)

Hi all, thanks for your input, l am quite aware that you get what you pay for, but if it says on the advertising that it will work on SRS systems you would expect the product to work. Buyer beware.

Read closely.   Look at CRP129 flyer.

http://www.launchtechusa.com/assets/products/CRP129.pdf

It says   "*Coverage varies depending on year/make/model."

I don't know any AM scanner that does everything.  Even some OE scanner can't do some things.

Hello Morry,

Before anything we need to check the criteria, Have we done the updates?, Replaced the SRS sensor or airbag properly?, Does the vehicle

need OBDI Adapters? this is a very successful DIY tool. We need to make sure we have the correct information, it may even be possible that

you purchased this device online, we do not sell online so it can be a counterfeit or overseas unit a lot of people get confused

Hi all, l have registed and it's not a counterfeit, l have looked at the updates and it is up to date, All 3 Vehicles are late model OBD11. I am not a novice at using readers and scanners. I've been using them for years. So l don't think blaming other factors is appropriate when the obvious fault lies within the product itself.

So, you formatted the MicroSD and started over fresh and still not working?

If it doesn't communicate then it must not be covered then.  But It says Coverage varies depending on year/make/model.

Anyway, It says that Mitsubishi was built on Smart platform.  So, Why don't you try with Smart also.  And also try Chrysler just to make sure.

Hello Morry,

Can I get the serial number for the device? that way we can improve your experience and confirm the problem?
