I am gettin tired of this. I tried to set the cmp sensor for timing on a 00 Chevy suburban and the scanner kept locking up? It got as far as kicking the throttle to wide open and then nothing. Any ideas on why it happens.

Based on your brief description of the problem we can suggest that since this 2000 C/K Suburban is over 12 years old, you are gonna have to ROLLBACK the software version number to an older previous number. If the vehicle is over 12 years old it is NOT uncommon with any aftermarket scan tools you may have to use an older previous version of the GM software. It really is that simple.
