to DaveL:
The Launch Tech USA CRVI/Creader6 is only designed for Generic EOBD2 Modes $01 thru $010.
These Generic OBD2 modes will only provide READ, ERASE, stored DTC's and Live Data, and Module I.D. numbers.
SORRY, but unfortunately the GM CAM Retard is a function using BI-DIRECTIONAL controls. ONLY a PRO level scan tool with full BI-DIRECTIONAL controls will allow you to perform the GM CAM retard functions. Please consider using any of our PRO-level tools X431-Pad 1 with Windows OS and also our X431-Pad 2 or Scan Pad 071/101 Android based tablets with the GM enhanced software.

Thanks for the reply...

Let me ask one more question on this subject while I've got your ear..

I have been told the Diagun series such as the X431 CRP129 Creader 8 will perform this funtion

Is that true?

No problem.. DaveL we are here to help.
Only our X431-Diagun (windows) and X431-GDS, X431-Pad (windows) and X431-Pad 2 Android can support the BI-DIRECTIONAL controls for the GM software under Powertrain module and Special Functions menu.
Sorry, but unfortunately the X431-V and CRP129 Creader8 do cannot support any BI-DIRECTIONAL controls.
You should also be aware that the Creader 8 is an overseas unit which is NOT sold or distributed thru Launch Tech USA.
It is possible that the CRP129 and Creader 8 are only available thru the CN Launch Tech China only.
