Help need with Launch for my Saab
Permalink

Hi everybody,

I bought a x431 about a year ago and since then going back and forth with Aliexpress and lunch to get it working.

basically the only thing that works is changing the alarm and stuff related to the lock and unlock.

Engine part does not work, soft top stuff doesn't work , ABS doesn't work.

I downgraded to older versions and used the latest version, still the same, took video of the Launch while using it and sent it to them, still a fancy expensive tool that doesn't work.

Spent $800 and can't use this piece of work.

Thanks,

F

I'm not sure what year Saab that is.

Maybe you should start there first.

So it sounds like the tool is connecting to your vehicle and only able to work with the BCM? What function are you trying to use that doesnt work? Also what model is the tool? X431 isnt specific- is it a tablet or a touchscreen or a hand held?

Hi,

It is Launch X431 Diagum III, I have 4 main menus :

Engine

Transmission

Body

Chasis

The only one that  partially working is Body where I can change the stuff about the how many times beeps when opening the door etc, however even under Body menu, I can not program key or check for the fault for soft top.

Last week soft top gave me a lot of headache and I couldn't find anything using Launch, basically saying no fault code, so I took it to my mechanic and he found 5 error codes for the soft top then he fixed them, so that annoying check soft top message which was coming up every 10 seconds gone but yes cost me $400 for those stupid switches to readjusted.

And I don't think transmission supposed to work since it is a manual one but Engine doesn't work, basically saying can't communicate, please send your VIN number blah blah, also under chasis, the ABS option doesn't work.

I have tried older version, latest version, still same crap.

Thanks,

F

You should get yourself a Tech2 with Saab card.

Or ask that mechanic what he is using and get that scanner.

Launch is a very good aftermarket scanner.  but it's not a factory tool.  It has some holes here and there.

Yes, I am getting a Tech2, hopefully the clone one works, can't afford the original one.

I was going to buy the Tech2 before  a long discussion with Aliexpress and they told me Launch does all, apparently not.

Thanks,

F

Good luck with it.

I got mine used for less than  $2000.  You can find used one for pretty good price.  Much safer than a clone.
