Regardless of what module I try to access, I get "error in communication". I tried the CAN and the SMART connectors. Please it was working fine on these cars before.
Thanks for your quick reply.

check that smart connector for damaged pins.....also try using the regular 16pin connector ......see if you can acess generic obd2 engine with the smart connector ...you can call launch tech support ... 1-877-528-6249 they will probably ask if your can connector is updated to version 2.2

I tried it today on an 01 BMW 323I, it worked fine with the smart connector. My CAN is already updated with 2.2 version. Any idea if the CAN is with 2.2 version and the Chrysler and Honda software on the x431 had the versions before last, would cause this problem?

On most Chrysler products through 2006 (non can) you should always use the Chrysler 16 connector. Not doing so will lock you out of most of the CCD bus controllers. This is a new connector and is an option.

The Honda 16 pin cars will only use the smart 16 or for canbus, the canbus II conector. Try downloading an older version and installing it then let us know if it works.

On the BMW you should use the BMW 16 through 01 because other connectors can cause an imobilizer lock.

If you go to the Launchtechusa site you can download a connector guide. It is not the latest but should work till you get a later version.

I guess it is the CAN connector that has the problem, because the Infinite is working with other connectors. The odd thing is that the CAN worked on a an 01 Discovery! I tried to reload the CAN version 2.2 to it, but the process failed when it get to third part of the process which the software upload process. Any Ideas?
Thanks.
Barry
Oh by the way, when we update the software, can we delete the older version from the CF card? ( I just want to make sure that it safe)

Contact the office at 877-LAUNCH9 and get the canbusII replaced. You can not delete from the card or write to the card. ALWAYS uninstall old versions using the update tools. Go to the blue trash can at the lower left then uninstall older software.

you cannot roll back the firmware versionn of the can 2 connector unfortunately..it is always best to keep the previous version vehicle software on youre card until you are sure the new one works o.k..then still keep a back up on youre computer incase something happens.
