Ok, a body shop sends this one to us with Airbag light on. They had just replaced the driver's side door. So I read out fault in Airbag module " 02511 Control module for seat recognition" and then proceed to clear the fault. Immediately light goes out and I think all is fixed. Drive it down the road several miles, then back into the shop, key off, car is done..NOT! As soon as I cycled the key back on, Airbag light is back on. So second scan and same fault has recurred. Take a look at both our pay websites: Identifix and EuroDiagnostics and both refer to special air bag reset procedure needed. So look again in Launch and see under "SPECIAL FUNCTION" and choice entitled "Service Air Bag Reset" Drill down into this menu and come up with the following options "VW5" "VW6" and "VW3" and I get caution that says "this may make SRS/Airbag light stay on" if I continue. Sooo? before I cut the wrong wire on this bomb, I thought I should ask the group at to which car I have: VW5, VW6 or VW3 ?
P.S. I checked the Datums on the Launch site and found none referring to this special Airbag reset procedure.

While I have never done that procedure, I asked one of my buddies who specializes in airbags and he said that car needs to go to the dealer to get the "the right front seat occupancy sensor reset". He said he hasn't been able to do it with my Launch.

Hope that helps!

Well, that ain't what I wanted to hear. I was hoping the super 16 would do the trick. Anyways before I give up on the matter, I am going to wait for Coyote's reply. I just talked to him and he's making a call to a buddy in Britian to find out if the folks across the pond have had any success with the Launch doing as much.

I just posted the case to the Launch website wtih all controller id's #'s and a description of what the Launch X431 bug in software. Let me encourage any on this board to do the same with any issues they are having with the program software. I have found the engineers are taking our concerns seriously, but they do need to gather as much info about issues we are having with U.S.A models. So go the Launch site, click on Award Complaint page and following the instructions for filing a complaint.

It helps us all when we all help each other cheers

i feel the same ..the more info the launch people are given about glitches and other concerns we have in the field the better they can help us ....

and we need feedback from the launch guys too ...
i have posted to the award complaint section a few times ....i'm not sure if anyone has even looked at my posts .....it would be great if we could get an e-mail confirming someone that can fix our concerns has actually looked at our post in the award complaint section`...

You can open the "award complaint" page and then click on "examine feedback" on the top right of the page. You will the status of the complaints from everyone listed as "Handled" , "Solving" or "UnHandled".

that's great..but there are posts in there from a few years ago that look un handle unsolved and who knows what else .......you had a great example yourself.. with your vw3 vw5 vw6 question .... .....if you posted that question to the award section and the engineers answered in a month or so ...or if they weren't busy and they answered the same week ...

wouldn't you also have liked to receive an e mail instead of having to keep checking back with the launch site? .........i've posted and then i forget all about it .....
regards paul
