here's the info i received from the customer .......this car had a dead battery at an airport and was jump started from the terminals at the battery in spare tire area.....my ustomer can't remember how long after that jump start the central locking stopped working
...i wanted to recode the gen module when i had the car on tuesday as suggested by an iatn archive find ......i couldn't find any provisions in the launch menu to allow me to recode....i called launch tech help and he couldn't find any either ....i'm using sw version 37.00....thanks paul
The c ar needs a general module. Your going to have to pull the glovebox to get to it and once installed its going to need to be programmed and your going to have to reinitialize whatever keys you have for the car. I would also recommend either charging the battery or getting a new bmw battery (don't bother with aftermarket) and checking the vehicle for a draw. Should be now more than 40 milliamps after 16 minutes (after the little orange light next to the shifter goes out ) most likely it was the general module causing the draw but better be safe than sorry. Let me know if this helps you
