I havent updated the software to the x431 yet because the owner of the shop hasnt registered it yet but was wondering if there is a feature to inflate and deflate the air suspension on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car.
i worked on a town car a few months ago ..i don't remember seeing the option to activate the compressor .......maybe has been added to new software versions ..
do you suspect a leak in the air suspension ? if so... you could always apply power to compressor just to get air into the rear struts to check for leaks .....or put some weight in the trunk with car on the ground and wait a few minutes for system to react on its own crawl under and listen
The air springs were replaced along with the solenoids. I applied direct power to the compressor and it barely inflated them. According to ALLDATA a scanner with that function is needed to properly inflate the springs when they are replaced.
put car on 4 low jack stands under frame ......remove the level switch arm ..i think it is a ball crank and pops off easily ... stay under the car so you can see what's going on
trick the car into thinking it's rear bumper is on the ground by moving the arm up and let the compressor fill the system ... remember to turn on the switch in the trunk... second tech controls the key and you control the level arm .....reconect the level arm up when you get sufficient air in the springs
the original compressor may be shot from working so hard for who knows how long to fill a leaky system
