New to the forum and launch. I should be getting my diagun this week. We have an 2001 audi tt in the shop and need to replace the air bag module. Will I be able to program the new module with the diagun or do I need a vag?
Check with the dealer if you need any "programming" if replacing the module with a NEW one. If you are aiming to use a USED one, you'll have to program or reset the module, which I do not suggest you do without checking the OEM procedures first.
That module should be codable with the Launch. Most VW/Audi modules don't require flash programming when replaced.
There is a tutorial on VW/Audi airbag coding under 'VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA PROCEDURES' on the main menu for VAG car lines once you've communicated with the vehicle. You can also download the PDF once you login to the X431.com site and go back from the download center to the main page and select 'Datums'.
