The X431 tool lists a 16 pin and a 9 pin DLC for communications.  The 16Pin connector (OBDII) I have found.  The 9 pin connector I can not seem to locate.  The tool instructs a Subaru-9,  which I have. Has any one tried to locate and use the 9 pin connector?  If so can a location be provided? My service information shows 7 connectors.  Of them,  I can only find 3.

What I was trying to accomplish was bi-directional control fo emiss. syst. valving. I was hoping that the 9-pin connection would allow more option.
