I just recently upgraded from a X431 Tool to a MaxGo from Matco with the expectation of being able to scan and read the VIN bar codes on the vehicles. The camera is a 5 MP but it is unable to focus on the bars well enough read them. Any one else having this problem or did I get one with a faulty camera.
I thought I had read somewhere that this was a feature of this scanner to be able to select your vehicle by just scanning the codes.
And yes, I did remove the protective from from the camera.
Never mind.....I finally found it on the Matco web site and it clearly states that it has the ability to read VINs. Guess I just got a bad camera.........
