Storage issues on the X431 Pad
Permalink

My Storage is now full, 21 MB of 6.99 GB free on C and 204 KB of 2.91 GB free on D.

Have done a disk clean up and a defrag with little movement. Not sure what's going on all of a sudden, folders look fine, Download folder is empty.

Not sure where to look to be able to free up space, is it possible that the unit has too small of a hard drive to keep taking updates?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bill

With any of the X431-Pad Windows based units it may sometimes be necessary to RESTORE the hard drive back to factory settings.
You can do the factory restore by first connecting the units power supply cable or docking station power for the entire process.
You must also connect a standard USB wired keyboard to the USB port on top of unit for the entire process.
Then starting with the POWER UP key, while the unit is booting up you must tap the F12 key on a USB wired keyboard repeatedly until the prompt appears. Once the maintenance disk clean up screen appears just use the keyboard ENTER key to confirm the power supply is connected.
Then the system will begin the F12 Disk Clean up automatically until the progress bar is complete.
Once the unit recovers from the F12 Disk Clean up mode you will need to reestablish your Wireless WiFi security password.
After you have confirmed a valid wireless WiFi connection you can go to the main menu and click on the Green One-Click updates icon.

Thank you! The process worked exactly as you described. It is downloading the new updates now.
Again thank you for the guidance!

Now getting and upgrade error, I keep getting this message now:

Sorry upgraded center program encounters an exception you need to restart.

Which I do, it gets to the same spot each time.

If this helps, I have space on the C drive but the D drive is full.

Thanks

It is possible that you have allow the windows security updates to install?? That could be the problem.
Otherwise can you please provide the serial number and login user name for this unit?
