Charge port

Obtained a demo X431 Pad 2 to try out and while using it on a vehicle the internal battery ran down. I was not given the AC charger so grabbed the 12V auxiliary cigarette lighter adapter and plugged it in. The pad shut off instantly and then I realized the AC charger is only 5 volts!. It has the same jack as every other OTC, Snap-On Maxisys scanners that accepts 12 volts. Now the unit will not charge. The green charge indicator flashes and so does the camera flash. Guess I toasted something? Any ideas?

The charge port should use a proprietary jack or at least be clearly labelled! The 12 Volt adapter is for use only with the OBD 1 connectors where 12 volts is not available at the DLC. Putting a disclaimer in the setup guide that says Launch will not be responsible for use of the incorrect charger is just LAME!
