Hi, I am new to this site and haven't yet started navigating thru these forums. I own the CReader Professional 129 (USA version)and it is my understanding that it will show mode $06. I own a 1998 Ford F150 5.4 liter and only see 4 modes to which none is mode $06. Is this correct or is it hidden elsewhere? I'm attempting to view live misfire data for each coil.
YES, of course all of our Launch Tech USA CRP123/129 series scan tools will support the Generic EOBD2 MODE$06 for Minimum and Maximum monitored TEST results. You should be able to access Mode$06 thru the Diagnose icon on the MAIN MENU. Then you must select the EOBD2 icon.
Once you open the Generic EOBD2 icon you should see the listing for Ford Continuous Memory which has the sub-menu for Modes$01 thru Mode$09.
You should understand when viewing the Mode$06 test results are shown in Hexadecimal codes with Minimum and Maximum value counters.
MODE$06 retrieves test results only for emissions related powertrain components and systems that are NOT continuously monitored.
Please note: Mode$06 does NOT command the vehicles computer to perform the test, BUT retrieves the results from the most recently performed test from the PCM memory. The test available are only determined by the vehicle manufacturer, and may include any or all of the standard tests, as well as other manufacturer-defined test results.
