2006 Mitsubishi Galant Key with integrated remote programming???

The key starts the car fine, but the buttons on the remote don't lock or unlock. Also, the Panic button does nothing. The remote has a red light that turns on when I press the buttons, but nothing happens. The Launch Pad 2 has options to program the keys, but which one do I choose??? Key photo is at the bottom. My question is that if the key was programmed correctly? Is that why the buttons don't work bc it needs to be programmed? Which of the 3 options to program the key should I use? Any ideas? Thank you!!!

So the launch can program keys to the ECU. After that, if the PCM was changed, it will ask you to change the VIN, which I didn't bc the VIN was correct and the ECU wasn't replaced. The key works like chrysler car from the same year, when you program the key, the remote should work instantly. The key I had which shows in the picture, wasn't exactly the same. I'm thinking the frequency was different. The car had another electrical problem with the door locks which we fixed, but the remote still did nothing even after reprogramming it 2 times. I even changed the VIN one time and rewrote it again to see if that worked. Nothing. So I can say that u can swap used ECU from this year and the Launch can program the keys and VIN to the new/used ECU so u can start the car with no problem. Not sure if new ECU would have to be programmed by mitsubishi then u can do the anti-theft/keys. Either way, I have done 1 ECU flashing and it worked fine. Anyways, another story for the books. Too bad no one has gone threw this to help people like me out. Thanks again.
